About TURVESSA

An airport built for Istanbul's second century of aviation — 48 million passengers a year, and a Net Zero commitment for 2035.

Who we are

A gateway between continents

TURVESSA sits where Europe meets Asia, connecting 312 cities across six continents with 89 airline partners. Three terminals, three independent runways and a 24-hour cargo city keep the operation moving whatever the hour.

Our operating philosophy is simple: the airport should be the easiest part of the journey. That means step-free routing from kerb to gate, unlimited free Wi-Fi, and information you can trust — published live and in plain language.

Sustainability

Net Zero by 2035

Our environmental programme covers energy, noise, water and waste — measured and independently verified each year.

Net Zero by 2035

Scope 1 and 2 emissions cut 62% since 2019 through electrified ground fleets and heat recovery.

40 MW solar canopy

Rooftop and car-park arrays generate 62 GWh a year, about a third of airport demand.

Quieter approaches

Continuous descent operations and a night noise quota have reduced the 55 dB contour by 18%.

Water and waste

89% of terminal waste diverted from landfill; rainwater harvesting supplies all terminal irrigation.
